Members CEO Dinner Briefing with Mr Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin

Mr Huang is the highest ranking official in the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government.  The office of the Mayor is on the same level of a provincial governor in China and is equivalent to premier of a state government in Australia. Co-hosting the dinner with Mr Sid Myer will be the Deputy Lord Mayor Susan Riley and Mr Alex Thursby, Group Managing Director of Asia Pacific, Europe & America, ANZ.  The Mayor will be in Melbourne to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Melbourne-Tianjin sister city relationship.

Tianjin is one of the five most competitive cities in China.  The Tianjin Binhai New Area has become the growth engine for north China and it is expected to match the economic miracle achieved by Shanghai’s Pudong in the 1990s and the Pearl River Delta’s development in the 1980s.

The dinner briefing is generously sponsored by ANZ and will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
