A panel of artists who have recently been involved in music, performance and visual art projects in Australia and Indonesia, will discuss:
- Emerging contemporary art and subcultures in Indonesia and Australia
- Experiences working across cultures to develop art projects
- Responses to their work in Australia and Indonesia
- Insight into different facets of the arts sector in Indonesia and Australia
- The Contribution of cross-cultural collaboration in the arts to the Australia-Indonesia relationship
- Funding opportunities provided by Australia and Indonesia for budding artists
Presented by Asialink and the Australia- Indonesia Youth Association (AIYA), this event will bring together several Melbourne-based artists who have worked across the Australia-Indonesia spectrum to talk about their experience and to provide insight into how the arts sector relationship is developing between the two countries. The event will showcase cross-cultural arts based projects from each panelist, and will also explore the exciting contemporary arts movement and youth cultures currently emerging in Indonesia.
