Roundtable with Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, HE Mr Primo Alui Joelianto

Asialink and the International Relations Office at the University of Melbourne are pleased to invite you to a roundtable discussion with HE Mr Primo Alui Joelianto, Indonesian Ambassador to Australia (2009-). This is following a post in Jakarta as the Director General for Asian and Africa Affairs in Department of Foreign Affairs (2006-2008), where he engaged with 127 countries over three continents, and represented the Indonesian Ministry at various multilateral conferences, such as the ASEAN Regional Forum and APEC.

Recent positions Ambassador Joelianto has held include:

•  Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Wellington, New Zealand (2004-2006)
•  Director for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Directorate General for Asia Pacific and Africa Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta (2002-2004)
•  Director for Middle East Affairs, Directorate General for Political Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta (2000-2002)
•  Counselor/ Head of Political Section, Indonesian Embassy in Paris, France (1996-2000)
•  First Secretary/Head of Political Section, Indonesian Embassy in Algiers, Algeria (1993-1996)
•  Deputy Director for Social and Cultural Relations, National Secretariat of ASEAN (1991-1993)
