What does the future of international artistic collaboration look like? With 20 years experience running Australia’s largest international arts residency program, Asialink looks forward to the next two decades. We explore ideas of collaborative artist camps, carbon-neutral exchanges, cross-media incubators, long-term placements, cross-cultural collaborations, virtual residencies and more. Join Korean curator, art historian and critic Dr.Kim Hong-hee (pictured) for the keynote address, Post-Museum: new partnerships between museums and arts residencies. Dr Kim is Director of the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, and her previous roles include Commissioner for the Korean pavilion at the 2003 Venice Biennale. |
This is a free event in celebration of Asialink’s 20th anniversary, and to welcome new Asialink Arts Director Lesley Alway.
The Asialink Arts Residency Program each year sends 40 Australian artists, writers, performers and arts managers on three to four month residencies to Asia. Applications are now open for the 2011 program and close 10 September 2010.
