Swifter, Higher, Stronger? China’s Economy & Business Prospects Post-Olympics

Following the success of The Beijing Olympics, all eyes are on the Chinese economy. With US$40.9 billion spent on the construction of sports facilities and traffic infrastructure, the investment is estimated to have boosted Beijing's economy by 2 percent annually over seven years.  Some predict the end of these good economic times.

This is an exceptional opportunity to hear Ambassador Geoff Raby, Australia’s most senior representative to China reflect on what lies ahead for China. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to China, and as Deputy Secretary since November 2002, Dr Raby's responsibilities included lead negotiator on WTO matters, China FTA Taskforce and bilateral relations with North Asia.

This event is presented by Asialink, Australia China Business Council and Confucius Institute at The University of Melbourne with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.
